Fall ?, 2014

Springville Center for the Arts and the Western New York Southtowns Scenic Byway invite artists of any medium to submit work for consideration for Changing Seasons: The Byway Experience. This juried exhibit of artwork inspired by the Southtowns Scenic Byway will be on display at Springville Center for the Arts’ newly renovated Harold L. Olmsted Gallery.

Deadline for submission is not set due to renovations, but artists are encouraged to submit as early as possible. A two hundred dollar first-place and other cash prizes will be awarded. Work is to be submitted initially by email. Artists will then be contacted and all work must be ready to display. Work included in the exhibit will be featured in an exhibit book and other promotional materials.

Work may be representative of, or merely inspired by, this designated scenic route, which meanders through Aurora, Boston, Colden, Concord, East Aurora, Orchard Park and Springville. Sights along the byway include waterfalls, historic villages, a gorge, farms, historic cemeteries and the ever-changing seasons. Submissions may include a scenic depiction, a portrait of someone important to the Byway, an abstract inspired by the Byway or other work connected to the Byway.

Maps and information on the Byway can be found at www.wnyssb.org. Learn more about the new interpretive signs and learn about the area at http://issuu.com/wnyssb/docs/wnyssb_booklet
