ART CRAWL:

Springville Center for the Arts presents the Spring Art Crawl on May 4 from 6-9pm. Dozens of businesses on Main Street host temporary exhibits featuring the work of over 50 artists. Participants arrive at the corner of Main and Mechanic Streets, Springville, NY and receive a map of participating locations. Participants stroll through the Business District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The show includes hundreds of pieces of artwork including traditional oil paintings, experimental mixed media, watercolors, wheat pastings, metal working, pottery, quilting and more. The work was juried by Gerald Mead, Thomas Annear and Max Collins.
“Just Go With It,” a local theater improv group will perform at Springville Center for the Arts, 37 North Buffalo Street at 6:30pm and 8pm.  Several music groups will be performing in stores.  VanOver Fine Arts will host an opening reception for a new exhibit.
The Springville Downtown Economic Development Group and the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce helped produce the event.
May 4th will also launch the opening of Arts Underground, a new initiative of Springville Center for the Arts at 66 East Main Street, Springville.  In addition to the Art Crawl display, the store will feature fine craft and smaller artwork from regional artists. Ashwood Artisans, the successful artisan store closing after eight years of successful business in East Aurora, is helping to launch the new space which will feature many of the same artists.  The Arts Crawl after-party will be held at Arts Underground at 9pm with DJ CUFX.
