Shakespeare CompleteThe Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
Directed by Mike Kowal

What do you get when you take three seasoned actors steeped in improvisational comedy, give them some props, a stage and the complete works of William Shakespeare? You get thirty-seven plays in ninety-seven minutes plus a whole lot of laughs at Springville Center for the Arts this February. Mix Titus Andronicus as a cooking show, a rap version of Othello, a dash of football, ketchup and mustard and you have the entire, yes the entire works of William Shakespeare reduced to a sweet soup. Taste a sample of this unique play, perfect for Shakespeare fans, even better for Shakespeare haters. Lines are improvised on the spot with audience participation making every performance different. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) has been continuously performed on stage for 22 years since its London opening and now is making its way to Springville.

Only three actors fill the countless roles in quick succession. Justin Chortie just finished appearing as Mr. Welch and Sam Wainwright in It’s a Wonderful Life. He belongs to WNY Improv with fellow actor Cory Golabek and Director Mike Kowal. Cory is an SGI graduate and a fifteen year veteran of performing improv comedy. The Reverend Hale in The Crucible and the Devil in Horn Call for the Queen of the Damned are his recent Springville Players’ roles. Tim Musial has previously participated in Springville Players’ radio play productions of It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. A Life Member of Aurora Players he relishes this show’s comedic-historic-tragic-dramatic-romantic-improvisational challenges. Director Mike Kowal has previously directed Therapy and an improvisational murder mystery. As an actor he has appeared in several shows in Springville, most recently in The Crucible.

Performance dates are February 16, 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 8pm and Sundays, February 19 & 26 at 2pm. $10 Student & Senior / $12 General.
