The SCA is happy to announce that four college interns will be joining us this summer! The interns will participate in children’s theater productions, including Rumpelstiltskin to be performed in area elementary schools, as well as facilitate a number of children’s workshops this summer. They will create the curriculum for and execute two musical theater workshops, a modified Shakespeare program and other children’s programs. Meghan Palmer, from SUNY Fredonia is a sophomore Musical Theater major and says she’s thrilled to become a member of the Springville Center for the Arts family! She has performed in productions such as Seussical the Musical and Bye Bye Birdie. From Cincinnati Ohio, Elizabeth Buehler is studying Dance, Arts for Children and Childhood Education at The College at Brockport. She has performed in the children’s musical The Dancing Spider and Honk! Junior. Erica Miranda Diedrich is a recent graduate from Niagara University where she received her BFA in Theatre Performance with a double minor in Fine Arts and Communications. Her most memorable credits at NU include Wonder of the World and Anything Goes. Last but not least, Taylor Burkey will join us following her freshman year at New York University where she is pursuing a BFA in Drama in the Experimental Theatre Wing at Tisch School of the Arts. Her favorite performances include Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz. We can’t wait for the summer to begin and look forward to giving the newest members of the SCA family a warm welcome!
