SCA is Hiring a Fund Development Director

Springville Center for the Arts (SCA) is a rural multi-arts center located in Western New York. Typical programming includes theater productions, concerts, workshops for all ages and gallery exhibits.

With support from the Cullen Foundation, we are seeking a full-time Fund Development Director to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Is great with relationships
  • Is able to fully immerse themselves within our community. You will not be successful as a commuter.
  • Can get things done.

We’re not interested in doing things the usual way. We’re interested in doing things the way that will help us achieve our goals. Accordingly, we are willing to look at a wider variety of candidates. We will even consider part-time applicants or those with no development background if they have a strong community connection or some other strength and a willingness to undergo training.

For some context we recommend reviewing:

  • Our website: SpringvilleArts.org
  • The Art’s Cafe prospectus: artscafespringville.com
  • Our strategic plan: https://springvillearts.org/sca/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Strat-PLan-scan.pdf
  • Or a recent Development Assessment by Ted Pietrzak https://springvillearts.org/sca/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/SCADev.pdf

This position will manage membership, develop relationships with corporate and business sponsors, coordinate with the Board and staff, execute special events and more. The position will work closely with the Executive Director to cultivate giving to support our charitable mission.

And, so that we don’t waste your time, everybody in this organization takes turns cleaning toilets. The pay is in the 30’s. If you are talented enough to work here, you can make more money doing less work somewhere else.

To apply, please send a resume and letter of interest which outlines how you are a great fit for this position and how you connect to our mission. If you have no background related to this position, we would not discourage you from applying but it is important that you make the case for why you should be considered.

Please send or email these materials addressed to Seth Wochensky, Executive Director, scaseth@gmail.com, Springville Center for the Arts, PO Box 62, Springville, NY 14141.
