Alisia Glasier (Fredonia, NY) spent eleven weeks in Springville as part of an internship and residency program. While here, she designed puppets, worked with children, and designed public art such as this piece, located behind Leslie Gibbons Law Office at 15 Mechanic Street in Springville. Entitled Crow and Deer– Sweet Companionship, the intent was to create a soft and gentle mood to counter the hectic artmaking activities of the summer. “I thought about my relationship, and how having a companion brought tender warmth that helped me push through challenges. As this spot is modest and hidden away, I hope that anyone passing by is pleasantly surprised, and can stop for a moment to find the tender warmth around them.”
