20131212_193538Springville Center for the Arts and WSPQ 1330AM present a live radio drama version of It’s a Wonderful Life Friday, December 20 and Saturday, 21 at 8pm. Based on the popular film and timed just right for a pre-Chistmas holiday experience, this radio version written by Anthony Palermo involves a company of actors with live sound effects performed on stage. The performances, presented by Emerling Ford and Heary’s Allstate Insurance, will be broadcast live over WSPQ from the Carol Mongerson Theater, Springville Center for the Arts, 37 North Buffalo Street, Springville.

George Bailey has spent his life giving of himself to the people of Bedford Falls. He has longed for other things but worked to prevent miserly Mr. Potter from taking over the town. On Christmas Eve, George’s Uncle loses their business’s $8,000 which sets of a chain of events threatening the town.  Thinking the world will be better off with him dead, he contemplates suicide. An angel named Clarence arrives to show George a world without his impact.

Mathew Boudreau, Monique Boudreau and Sophie Howes from Aural Studios led a workshop on the radio drama production process where actors have studied timing, voice acting, breathing, and voice ranges. The show stars Matt Boyle, Ed Heary, Kevin Kujawa, Wally Holland, Tim Musial, Pete Esser, Hank Duwe, Jeanne May, Claire Nelligan, Matilda Musial, Susan Sorensen, Claire Boyle, Hayden Wible, Dru Robinson, Mac Musial, and Zack Martin.
