Following his debut solo show at MAIN(ST)UDIOS in Buffalo, Max Collins is bringing his work to Springville Center for the Arts for a second show. Max utilizes a unique process in his work in order to expose a more physical process. Rather than merely printing photographs, he prints and wheat pastes them onto wood and other found objects. While still utilizing the benefits of photographing with a digital camera and editing using Photoshop, the creation of a physical object allows separation from its digital origins; demonstrating what Collins says is “A mindset I try to maintain in my life that embraces the benefits of digital technology, while remaining proactive as to not allow it to consume me.”
The show opens February 9th and will run until March 10th including a closing reception from 6-8pm. Immediately following will be Cinema at the Center featuring Levi Abrino.
