This adaptation skillfully compresses the novel while still including memorable milestones. Interlaced with warmth, family loyalty and traditional values, all these important events provide us with a better understanding of our own lives. This timeless and enduring classic was penned by Louisa May Alcott 140 years ago, its message is still relevant for audiences today.
Auditions: July 8 & 9 from 7pm until 9pm
Concord Town Hall auditorium, 2nd floor (next door to SCA)
Actors needed to play the following roles: 7 women in their teens to 20’s; 3 women in their 40’s to 50’s; 1 woman in her 60’s to 70’s; 2 men in their 20’s; 1 man in his 40’s to 50’s.
Sides will be provided at the audition. You do not have to have a monologue prepared. Participation at both audition sessions is encouraged.
A cast read through party (open to all actors and friends of Springville Players) at the Glenwood Acres Ski Club on August 17th with a BBQ party to follow (snacks and refreshments at 3pm, play reading at 4pm and dinner at 7pm. The first rehearsal would be on Monday September 9th at 6:30pm. We would rehearse on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30pm until 9pm. Plus will add in some rehearsals on Saturdays in late October and early November, dates to be determined.
