3. Child at Play 26.5 X 22PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP:

ARE YOU SEEING OR ARE YOU REALLY JUST

PUSHING A BUTTON AFTER ALL?

With Richard Stamps

In this introductory conversation, Photographer Richard Stamps will show photographers of all skill levels ways to interact more with their automatic digital cameras whether they are advanced or point and shoot cameras users. We will learn how to produce more satisfying photos than just letting the automatic wizardry do it for you.

The most immediate problems inexperienced photographers face is actually seeing the whole composition before their eyes.

We will deal with beginning composition, depth of field, white balance, crop factor, and filters. If time permits we will touch on aperture priority, shutter priority and manual shooting modes.

All too often new photographers are intimidated by the language and their equipment. This overview is meant to make students feel more at ease with the whole photographic experience. If there is an interest in a more advanced photographic class, we can explore the possibility of further classes. It’s time for you to see a new way of looking through your camera.

Cost: $10 / 90 minutes / Students must supply their own cameras / Preferred: 35 mm. Point and shoot cameras acceptable / Students must register before August 5 by calling 716-592-9038. Minimum 5 Students.
