Megan Dean

Megan is from Pennsylvania and will be a senior theater major at DeSales University this fall. Some of her favorite roles there have been Rosemary in Picnic and Anne de Bourgh in Christmas at Pemberley. She will be directing her senior class’ children’s show: Pirates! Theodore Thudd and the Quest for Weird Beard, in the spring of 2021. Her play, “Brownies for Breakfast”, was a semi-finalist at the Blank Theater’s Young Playwright’s Festival in 2019. Megan thanks Kingsley and the rest of the SCA team for bringing the arts to life this summer.

 

 

 

Claire Hemingway

Claire is an upcoming sophomore at the University at Buffalo hailing from Holland, New York. She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Studio Art. As a Western New York native, she is looking forward to creating art and teaching aspiring artists within her community. She has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. Claire has participated in various art shows in her town as well as the 2019 Future Curator’s Exhibit at the Albright Knox Art Gallery. She is very excited about this opportunity at the center for the arts this summer and can’t wait to see the artwork everyone creates.

 

 

 

Iyanna Huffington

Iyanna is a recent graduate of UNC Greensboro with a degree in both Drama and History, minor in American Sign Language. She has previously served as a dramaturg and Assistant Director for theatres such as Triad Stage, Peppercorn Children’s Theatre, and the UNCG School of Theatre; as well as the 2019 summer Artistic/Literacy Intern for SoHo Rep. She is so excited to kick off her professional career as the Arts Administration Intern for SCA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alexa Kartschoke

Alexa is a college student hailing from Williston,Vermont and she is so excited to be a part of the SCA team this summer! She is a rising junior and she is currently pursuing a BFA in acting with minors in dance and creative writing from SUNY Fredonia. She has been performing in theatre since she was 8 years old and has participated in over 20 community and educational productions. She is an avid writer and has had her poetry published twice in her school’s literary journal, The Trident. She is so excited at this opportunity to teach the next generation of dedicated theatre artists.

 

 

 

 

Sinead Tobin

Sinead is a senior at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is majoring in Musical Theatre and minoring in Computer Science. In her time at Wesleyan, Sinead stays active in the theatre department, doing everything from directing to costume construction. Her favorite roles have been Wiley in Wiley and the Hairy Man and Shelby in Steel Magnolias. In her free time, Sinead is involved in many extracurriculars. She is president of the Queer-Straight Alliance, treasurer of both the music honorary and the theatre honorary, and a proud sister of Alpha Gamma Delta. Sinead grew up in Fairmont, WV, and started doing theatre when she was nine years old.

 

 

 

Junior Interns

We are looking for our first group of Junior Interns! Open to any students of Middle School / High School Ages. Help with set construction, produce media content, public art installation and more with programs tailored to your interests.
