Six local musicians have brought together the timeless work of Bob Dylan and the innovation of jazz music in a unique collaboration. The end result is Jazzim’ a blend of iconic songwriting and the experimental art form of jazz.Jazzim’ visionary Dana Oakes (vocals) solicited the talents of Alex Sabuda (guitar) who artistically designed the jazz arrangements and was Dana’s mentor in this collaboration. Dana and Alex are joined by Charlie Porter (drums) and Nick Kowalski (bass) as well as special guests Ken (trombone) and Susan (saxophone) Crane. Both adjunct music professors at area colleges, Ken has toured with jazz icons including Frank Sinatra, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and Clark Terry. The musicians navigate through Dylan’s notoriously provocative and moving lyrics, from hits such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” (1962) to “Make You Feel My Love” (1997). Do these and other tunes placed in a “jazzed” context take on greater clarity? Come, listen as Jazzim’ explores the depths of Dylan’s artistic and spiritual journey.  Tickets $10.00 general admission.
