Call for Participation

Art Crawl is a free event that takes place in historic Downtown Springville on Saturday, May 4th at 5:30 pm.

All of Main Street, Springville becomes a gallery with artwork in Main street businesses and musicians on the street. Festivities begin at 5:30 and close at 8:30pm when the after-party starts at Springville Center for the Arts. Awards, Food, and Music. Come shop local stores and artwork!

Artists are asked to submit images of up to five works in any medium to be juried in to the show. To submit, send images along with a submission form including the description of the work including medium, size, price, and information on how the work is to be displayed to SCAArtSubmissions@gmail.com. Deadline: April 13, 2019. After notification of acceptance, work must be delivered by April 27 ready to display. See Jury information below. 

 

Call for Musicians & Performers

One space will be set up to host fine craft sales. bring your jewelry, pottery, or other fine craft items for sale. No charge for arts sales.

Community Organization Tables

If you represent a community organization that would like to spread the word about your mission, consider setting up a table at one of the Art Crawl spaces. There is no charge.

Marketplace

Do you operate a small home business without a storefront but would like to have a presence at Art Crawl? Join the Marketplace – a temporary pop up in one of the vacant spaces on Main Street.

2019 Artwork Jurors

Sean M. Witucki obtained his BS and MS in Visual Art Education from the State University of NY at Buffalo State. Witucki is an internationally collected, self-taught painter, who is always focused on developing his skills in the techniques of the traditional masters with a strong interest in the Hudson River School and Dutch Still Life painters. Like these traditions Witucki chooses to focus on painting directly from life or from studies that have been created this way.   He has been a drawing and painting instructor at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts since 2002. Sean is a member of the Copley Society of Artists, Buffalo Society of Artists, Oil painters of America, Western New York Artist Group and is a Grand Central Atelier, Hudson River Fellow.

 

 

 

 

Donna Jordan Dusel has been exhibiting her artwork and her photography work  since receiving her MAH-[Masters of Arts in Humanities], from SUNY University at Buffalo in 1978.  She has exhibited her photos in art galleries which include:  The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Castellani Art Museum, Burchfield-Penney Art Center, Art Dialogue Gallery, Kenan Center Gallery, CEPA Gallery, Hallwalls, Carnegie Art Center, Big Orbit Gallery, Czurles-Nelson Gallery, Union Gate Gallery, and The Theodore Roosevelt Site Gallery, among others, in NYC.  Her work was also shown in Beijing, China, included in the Buffalo State Faculty exhibition, 2013. She received an “American Photographer” Award in 1984.  Donna has taught photography, art, and writing courses at the college level since 1980.   She retired from D’Youville College in 2015, and from SUNY Buffalo State in 2016.   Donna has been an exhibiting member of The Buffalo Society of Artists since 1980. She was the President of the The Buffalo Society of Artists from 1999-2000. President of the WNY branch of The National League  of American Pen Women, from 1994-1998.  Donna served as curator of the D’Youville College Library Gallery in 2001, where she curated professional  watercolor exhibitions.

 

 

Nila Griffis Lampman, Executive Director of The Ashford Hollow Foundation finds her passion in connecting people to the art, programs and history that can be found both at Griffis Sculpture Park and The Essex Arts Center.   One of Nila’s main goals is to pay homage to the great history that the organization holds while ensuring its sustainability for years to come.  Lampman is ecstatic to still have the opportunity to work with the students at Griffis Sculpture Park giving tours; the enjoyment that the students have in the open fields and interactive sculptures is tangible and connects her to the true mission.

Nila initially served as a dedicated volunteer to The Ashford Hollow Foundation for over 25 years, leading the charge of several fundraising events as well as the creation of marketing and PR materials.  Nila officially joined the Ashford Hollow Foundation as Executive Director in 2010.

Nila moved full time into the non-profit sector after a careers in Advertising and Education.  She worked in Advertising planning several corporate campaigns and functions.  While her love of education came in many forms and took her across the world – including living abroad in South Korea for two years and teaching at Trillium College in Saint Catherines, Ontario for three years.

Nila is passionate about Griffis Sculpture Park and The Essex Arts Center and preserving the legacy they have as well as ensuring strong strategic goals are being met to increase the longevity of the organization.  Griffis Sculpture Park is a true jewel in Western New York and Lampman wants to give generations to come the opportunity to come, see, create and enjoy there.
