Calling all folkies! Curated by Ben Collier, Folk Night will focus on folk and traditional music hosted by a constellation of players. American Raga | September 4th | As the seasons turn in town and the first cold gust blows over the ridgeline, come down to hear Americana Raga, a sonic presentation by Mikee Strongmen and Ravi Pambanabha. Strongmen’s ringing notes of brilliance, Jaw harp murmurs, and banjo rolls glide across the pulsing rhythms of Padmanabha’s tabla drum and deep rooted percussion. Instrumental, but singing in languages unspoken and untranslatable, Strongmen and Pambanabha are on a journey, and their musical miles radiate from the stage as they lock into each other’s trance states. Records for sale, a talisman for your keeping.
