    This class will focus on “I Love,” the Heart Chakra, associated with our capacity to love, the seat of our compassion and connection, and transcendence of fear, also referred to as the gateway to our inner gardens. You will use traditional Suminagashi marbling and Ebru paint techniques to work through a comparison contemplation of grayscale and the traditional Heart Chakra color of green to create our own complex gardens.

    This three-part painting workshop will set the groundwork for better paintings over time. Geared for intermediate students, the focus will be the planning and design steps that result in more masterful paintings. The lessons will emphasize where and how you put paint down, shapes used, values arranged, and colors selected. The aim will not be on a single wonderful painting but rather smaller size paintings that allow for easy corrections. Participants will select their own media and subject matter to work with. Amble through enchanting landscapes where you’ll see some of the largest and tallest trees in the region, picturesque mossy-bouldered creeks featuring many small waterfalls, intriguing root formations and much more.
