DAVID’S HIDDEN PLACES: FANTASTIC FRANKLIN GULF

A guided tour through Erie County’s Franklin Gulf Park’s scenic highlights as seen through the eyes of professional photographer David Reade. This excursion will feature gorgeous views, beautiful creek vistas with plentiful picturesque small waterfalls; impressive old-growth trees, all along a route custom designed by David exclusively for this tour.
Rating: Moderate
Who: Experienced hikers who can handle uneven trail terrain, an off-trial bushwhack, a creek walk and creek crossings.
Time: 4-5 hours
Requirements/Recommendations:
- Sturdy hiking boots, preferably high-top (or your feet will get wet)
- Layered clothing that can be worn or removed depending on circumstances.
- Trekking poles are highly recommended (helps on uneven terrain and with creek crossings)
- The physical ability to handle such an adventure (self-assess)
- You will be required to sign an acknowledgment of the risks of such an adventure.
Photographic Equipment Recommendations:
- Camera: A quality camera with good dynamic range (ability to handle high contrast light).
- Lens(es): wide angle to mild telephoto.
- Optional: lightweight tripod (for longer exposures).
Also bring:
- Ample water
- Your own transportation. We will carpool as a much as possible from SCA to the site.
- Your sense of wonder – we’re going to see some awesome stuff!

To keep the tour manageable, the maximum group size will be 8-10 (Sign up early!)
