TOO MANY ZOOZ
April 5th | SGI High School | 7pm | $20 advance, $25 door
Springville Center for the Arts partners with SGI Schools to present Too Many Zooz. Self-described “Brass House” trio Too Many Zooz make manically kinetic instrumental music that combines avant-garde jazz, EDM, punk rock, and sundry other traditions into their own distinctive brand of high-energy dance music. A viral sensation since they first emerged as New York subway buskers in 2013, Too Many Zooz have evolved into a globally recognized phenomenon who tour often and produce YouTube videos that have garnered millions of views. They are bringing their sound to Springville as part of an artist residency, and holding a public performance on Saturday, April 5th at Springville-Griffith Institute High School. This is an alcohol free, all ages event. Sponsored by Hodgson Russ LLP.
During their stay, Too Many Zooz will perform for local school districts in the area and hold instrumental clinics, teaching students to trust their ear, feel the music, and own the stage. Springville Jazz Orchestra and an Invitational Band formed of select high school students will join Too Many Zooz on stage during their performance on April 5th.
