SYNOPSIS:
Noah was writing the chapters of Genesis when suddenly God spoke to him: There will be a world-destroying flood, and Noah must build an ark to house two of every kind of animal. So begins the story of Two by Two, a musical retelling of the biblical story of the Great Flood. Noah’s family is skeptical of this message; his sons Shem and Ham, along with Shem’s wife Leah, argue that Noah should be put away in an asylum. The family banters and battles over marriage, money, and whether or not the ark should have a rudder. Ultimately, God keeps His promises and floods the Earth–but in the end gives Noah a covenant in the form of a rainbow that He’ll never harm the world again.
AUDITIONS:
Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Arts Underground, 66 East Main Street, Springville, NY 14141
The Cast calls for 4 men and 4 women. Please note: There are no roles in this musical for children. Retrieve and fill out the application HERE. Bring it with you to the audition.

For your audition, prepare a memorized monologue or reading lasting under a minute AND a memorized minute long portion of a song from a musical of your choice which you will sing a-capella (without accompaniment). Auditioners will be called from the waiting room area in the order in which they arrive to the best of our ability. We expect each audition to last from 5 to 15 minutes for most candidates.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be held in May and June from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Arts Underground site, with some rehearsals being moved to Art’s Cafe or other sites in Springville as needed. We expect such relocations to be minimal.
Rehearsal Dates: May 8-11, 15-18, 22-25, 29-31, June 1- 5-8, 12-14. Total: 23 rehearsals
10 Performances: June 15-17 (Thurs-Fri-Sat), June 29-30 & July 1 (Thurs-Fri-Sat), July 14-15 (Fri-Sat), July 27-28 (Thurs, Fri)
*There may be one or two additional performances depending on cast and schedule availability.
ART CRAWL:
As part of the Springville Art Crawl, we will need each of our Two by Two cast members to be part of the day’s activities. Last year, the cast of The Addams Family was a huge hit. So please put it on your calendar for this year as part of our work on the show.
