Friday, January 11, 2019 - Sunday, August 4, 2019 All Day

This biennial juried exhibit of work is inspired by the area along the WNYSSB. Work is inspired by or influenced by the scenery and communities along this route.

The Byway

Situated southeast of Buffalo, the Western New York Southtowns are graced with a series of highways brought together under the banner of the Western New York Southtowns Scenic Byway to unite numerous towns and villages into a regional attraction. The Byway forms a 108 mile scenic loop that runs from the towns of Orchard Park and Aurora south through Boston, Colden, Concord, Ashford and Ellicottville. WNY Southtowns Scenic Byway is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization. Find out more about their work at wnyssb.org.

What We Are Looking For

Work may be representative of, or merely inspired by, this designated scenic route, which meanders through Aurora, Boston, Colden, Concord, East Aurora, Orchard Park, Springville, Ashford, and Ellicottville. Sights along the byway include waterfalls, historic villages, a gorge, farms, historic cemeteries and the ever-changing seasons. Submissions may include a scenic depiction, a portrait of someone important to the Byway, an abstract inspired by the Byway or other work connected to the Byway. Work does not have to be a scene only viewable from the road. 2019 Jurors: Bruce Allen Blair, Bob Lennartz (President of WNYSSB) and E. Seth Wochensky.
