This exhibit will showcase artwork in a variety of mediums from our amazing community of arts supporters. Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels had the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Olmsted Gallery.

The Art of Zoar Valley III will be on display at the Olmsted Gallery this summer. The call for work deadline is April 18th.

This drop-off creativity program for ages 2 through 5 takes the Reggio Emilia approach of “process over product.”  Kids explore open-ended arts activities at their own pace, with the guidance of instructors. Painting, sculpture, loose parts, clay, puppet shows, instruments and more. The program will also include guest artists and walking field trips.

This new program will introduce instruments, singing, dancing, and general music-making mayhem. The program will take place the following Saturdays: 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3-8, 3/22, 4-5, 4/19, 5/3. 

Jon Horton will have a self titled gallery exhibit at Art’s Cafe from February 5th-March 15th. A reception will be held at the cafe February 5th from 5:45 to 7pm.

You may have seen Dan’s mural in the municipal parking lot, or his giant pirate puppet at Art Crawl 2024. Dan is also the owner of Funderbolt Studios Toy and Game Design, whose clients include major toy companies like Fisher Price and Mattel. He has been a professional toy inventor for over twenty five years. Join us to hear Dan speak about his career and experience as an artist.

A laidback workshop where you’ll get a chance to unleash your inner creativity by sculpting a piece of art from your own block of concrete and marble dust. No sculpting knowledge or artistic skill level required- just an active imagination. All tools, materials and gloves will be provided. With Brian Pfeiffer.

Benny Bleu will be performing at our monthly Folk Night at Art’s Cafe on Thursday, February 6th from 6:30-8pm.

Home Remedy is Lydia Garrison with Rosie Newton. They are a powerhouse duo fusing Old Time, Americana songwriter, and Cajun and Zydeco flavors. Both multi-instrumentalists and singers, they share an upbringing steeped in regional New York state thriving local music culture. In Home Remedy, Lydia and Rosie play fiddles, accordions, guitars, banjo and some percussion. 

Kids night at the gallery! Introduce the younger generation to the art gallery scene. Feel free to dress up, and enjoy some treats while exploring our current exhibit, the Member Show. Parents will accompany their children as they engage in creative investigation through an activity guided tour of SCA.

There will be a Fantasy & Football Trivia night hosted by Brayton J. Wilson at Art’s Cafe on February 12th from 6-8pm.

A weekly evening of jazz standards from the 40’s to the present, selections from the Great American Songbook, and a touch of Latin too. With a rotating group of musicians.

Create a fun and interesting portrait on glass using translucent paint medium. Participants will bring a reference image that they would like to create. Frames and all supplies provided.

Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light will be performing at Art’s Cafe on February 15th from 7-9pm. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Bring a song you have written or are working on. Share with others. With the hopes of continuing to build a community of songwriters, Caleb Spaulding and Jon Hasz will host this monthly get-together. The group will meet in the basement workshop in January, February, and March.See the progress as they share their work in the dining space on April 17th. 

JOURNEYS | HOLLAND TUESDAY PAINTERS will be on display at the Harold L. Olmsted gallery from February 26th to April 12th. A reception will be held on February 28th from 6:30-8pm.

This class focuses on “I Feel,” the Sacral Chakra, associated with our creative and feminine energies. Students will explore a contemplation of its associated color of orange, using color mixing exercises with oil paint, found object assemblage and mixed media.

Come hear local talent or bring a song of your own! Performers may play covers or original songs. No back tracks permitted, must bring your own accompaniment or you are welcome to sing acapella.

Have you ever wanted to direct but don’t know where to start? This is the workshop for you! Each participant will be assigned a 10 minute play from the series “Get in the Car” written by local talents in Buffalo. Matt Boyle will walk you through the nuances of directing and how to stage a short play. Hosted by Matt Boyle.

Learn the process, safety and technique of printmaking with linoleum. Carve your own design that can be used to print on tea towels, shopping bags, pillowcases and more. White tea towels will be provided for printing in class.
